First, i find the 32 gb is more than enough and did not pay the extra $100 for more, in fact, i lost my pixel, and when i bought a replacement pixel, i did not opt for the 128 versio. However, you can store your photos for free in the google cloud using the google photos app.

There is exactly one device through the entire google history that has an sd slot. Thus the user has to cope with the 64gb or the 128gb that the internal memory offers. They haven't released a single device of any kind with an sd card slot since then.
